Frequently asked questions
Why is the output always PNG?
Because it is the universal format with transparency: the circle needs transparent corners to look right on any background. JPG would fill them with a solid color.
Can I choose which part of the photo ends up in the circle?
The tool uses the central square of the image. For a custom framing, crop to 1:1 first with the crop tool and then round the result.
Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. All processing happens inside your browser using the Canvas API: your files never leave your device, there are no upload queues, and the tool even works offline once the page has loaded.
