Also accepts PNG, JPG, WebP and GIF — or paste with Ctrl+V

100% local processing: no image is ever uploaded to any server.

AVIF is today’s most efficient web image format, and more and more sites serve it by default. The problem comes when you download one: many desktop programs still can’t open it. Converting to JPG makes it compatible with absolutely everything.

Your browser already knows how to decode AVIF, so the conversion is instant and local: the image is decoded and re-exported as JPG at the quality you choose, never touching a server.

How it works

  1. 1

Drop your AVIF files into the upload zone.

  2. 2

JPEG is preselected as the universal destination.

  3. 3

Download the JPGs and use them anywhere.

Frequently asked questions

Why can’t I open an AVIF file?

AVIF is very recent and many desktop viewers and editors don’t support it yet. Modern browsers do — which is why this conversion can happen locally.

Do I lose quality converting AVIF to JPG?

AVIF already applied lossy compression when created; JPG adds its own, but at 85–90% quality the difference is practically imperceptible.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. All processing happens inside your browser using the Canvas API: your files never leave your device, there are no upload queues, and the tool even works offline once the page has loaded.
